This is the privacy policy page for Barcode Ticket on the Apple App Store. The company policy that covers all TecAv apps is at tecav.com.au/privacy.html.
Summary
Barcode Ticket does not collect or transmit personal data to TecAv Software. There is no sign-up, no account, no analytics, and no advertising. We do not sell personal information. Your tickets, photos, and barcodes stay on your iPhone and Apple Watch.
What data is stored, how, and why
The app stores the following locally on your devices so you can show a code later:
- Ticket details you enter or we read from a code — name, barcode or QR payload, format, expiry date, limited-use count, favourite flag, and dates added or last used. Used only to list and display your tickets.
- Barcode images — a PNG of the code, either redrawn on the iPhone or cropped from the photo you imported. Used to show a sharp code on iPhone and Apple Watch.
- Reference photos — the photo or screenshot you choose, or a photo you take, kept so you can show the original ticket if asked.
On iPhone this is stored in the app’s on-device database. On Apple Watch a copy is stored in the watch app’s documents folder after you tap Send to Watch. Sync uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity link between your paired devices. TecAv Software does not receive these files.
Camera and photos
Camera and photo access are optional. You can still import a .barcodeticket file without them.
- Camera — only if you tap Take Photo. The photo is used to find and save a barcode. It is not uploaded to TecAv.
- Photos — you pick one image with Apple’s photo picker. The app sees only that image, not your whole library. Finding a code happens on your iPhone.
You can decline camera access in iOS Settings. Take Photo will not work; From Photo and From Backup File still will.
What we do not do
- No analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, or tracking SDKs
- No cloud sync or TecAv accounts
- No third-party data sharing
- No location, contacts, HealthKit, microphone, or account access
Subscriptions (Barcode Ticket Plus)
Optional auto-renewable subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment. TecAv Software does not receive your card number or Apple ID password. The app reads subscription status on your iPhone through Apple’s StoreKit. New subscribers get 14 days of the full app at no charge, then A$9.99 per year unless they cancel. You manage or cancel in your Apple ID subscription settings. Restore Purchases is in the app’s About screen.
Third parties
Barcode Ticket does not share user data with third parties. Sending a ticket to the watch goes only between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple’s system. Opening Support, Privacy, or Terms from the About sheet loads this website in the browser; that visit may create ordinary web-server logs as described in the company Privacy Policy.
If you save an off-device backup (.barcodeticket file) to Files, iCloud Drive, or email, the file leaves the app under your control. TecAv Software does not receive that backup unless you email it to us for support.
Retention and deletion
Tickets stay on the device until you delete them, uninstall the app, or erase the device. Deleting a ticket on iPhone does not remove the copy on the watch, and the reverse is also true — delete it in both places if you want it gone.
If you set an expiry date, the app removes that ticket automatically once the expiry is more than one year in the past. Tickets with no expiry are never auto-removed.
There is no TecAv copy to delete. If you have emailed us a screenshot or file for support, ask support@tecav.com.au to delete that correspondence.
Children
Barcode Ticket is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
