Privacy Policy

This is the company Privacy Policy for TecAv Software apps. Time and Fuel Aviation uses this URL on the Apple App Store and Google Play (com.tecav.timeandfuel.aviation). Product-specific pages for Barcode Ticket, Ops Normal Timer, and other apps are linked at the bottom of this page.
This Privacy Policy explains how TecAv Software (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with our applications, including Time and Fuel Aviation, forthcoming Time and Fuel Marine, Road, Drone and Agriculture editions, Barcode Ticket, Ops Normal Timer and Ops Normal Timer Free, and Mail Alert, and this website at tecav.com.au.
Summary
- Our apps are designed to keep your operational data on your device.
- We do not operate user accounts, advertising, analytics SDKs, or crash-reporting clouds in our apps.
- We do not sell personal information and we do not use advertising identifiers.
- Some optional Time and Fuel features contact third-party services (maps, aviation data lookup). Those providers process the request content needed to fulfil the feature. Barcode Ticket and Ops Normal Timer do not contact third-party services.
- You can erase Time and Fuel data on the device using Return to welcome or factory reset in Device Profile (export a backup first). Uninstalling Barcode Ticket, Ops Normal Timer, or Ops Normal Timer Free removes remaining on-device data for that app.
What we do not collect
TecAv Software does not require a sign-up and does not run an account server. We do not receive your routes, fuel figures, profiles, tickets, photos, or location unless you choose to email a file to us for support. Uninstalling the app removes remaining on-device storage associated with it.
Time and Fuel — data we process
Time and Fuel stores the following categories of information locally on your device (and in files you choose to export/share):
- Operational planning data — aircraft and duty profiles, routes, saved days/trips, fuel and duty calculations, holding and diversion settings.
- Location catalogue data — airports, navaids, and waypoints you import or verify, including verification history and contributor display names you enter.
- Optional personal details — verifier name and related fields you enter under Device Profile (used for provenance stamps and similar labels).
- Optional images — profile menu artwork and invoice logos you select or photograph; images stay on device unless you export or share them.
- Optional API credentials — if you enter an OpenAIP API key, it is stored on device to call OpenAIP on your behalf.
- Device preferences — units, region filters, language, map cache settings, app-lock setting, and similar preferences.
- Precise location (when you allow it) — used while the app is open for features such as diversion position and sorting nearby locations. We do not sell location data. Approximate map area may be inferred by map-tile providers when maps are displayed.
Permissions (Time and Fuel)
These match the permission prompts on iPhone and Android. All of them are optional except the network access needed if you choose to load map tiles or look up aviation data.
- Location (While Using the App) — diversion / position-related features while the app is open. Time and Fuel does not track you after you leave the app. The iOS “Always” location string exists so the system can show a complete prompt; we do not use background tracking.
- Camera — optional; only if you photograph a logo or menu image for a profile. Photos stay on the device and are not uploaded to TecAv.
- Photos / files — optional; choosing menu or invoice images, and importing or exporting files you select.
- Face ID / device biometrics — optional; unlocks the app when a profile requires an app lock. Biometric data stays on the device and is handled by the operating system. We do not receive a copy of your face or fingerprint.
- Bluetooth — optional Flux Drive discovery and encrypted flight-plan transfer to that removable USB device.
- Local network — optional transfer of flight-plan files to a Flux Drive on a local Wi‑Fi / SoftAP if that path is used.
- Internet — optional map tiles and aviation-data lookups you choose to run. Not used for advertising.
Third-party services
Depending on features you use, Time and Fuel may contact:
- Map imagery providers (for example OpenStreetMap / Esri tile services) to display maps. Tile requests reveal an approximate map area and your IP address to the provider.
- Aviation data sources you choose to search or import from (for example FAA NASR, OurAirports, and OpenAIP if configured). Search text and, where applicable, your OpenAIP API key are sent to that provider.
Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. We do not control their retention practices.
Sharing and exports
If you use Share, AirDrop, email, USB export, Flux Drive transfer, or .tfx / flight-plan export, the files you choose to send leave the app under your control. We do not receive those exports unless you email them to us for support.
Encrypted profiles
Time and Fuel can encrypt profile payloads using industry-standard cryptography so you can protect configuration files with a password. Encryption keys are derived from passwords you choose; we do not hold your passwords.
Ops Normal Timer — data we process
Ops Normal Timer and Ops Normal Timer Free are Apple Watch reminder apps. TecAv Software does not receive session data. The watch stores the following locally so the session and settings persist:
- Nominated minute — used only to calculate the next Ops Normal report time in UTC or the watch’s local time, matching the Alert time setting.
- Session start and end times — used to run and end the duty session (full app) or stop after the third alert (free app).
- Settings — report interval, session length (full app), early-warning lead, and alert time (UTC or Local), used only to schedule local alerts and show the countdown.
- Free-edition limit flag (free app only) — so the purchase screen can be shown after the third alert.
If you allow notifications, the app schedules local time-sensitive alerts on the watch through Apple’s notification system. TecAv Software does not receive notification content or device tokens. Declining notifications does not block the timer.
Ops Normal Timer does not use location, contacts, photos, HealthKit, microphone, accounts, analytics, or advertising. Deleting the app from the watch, or erasing the watch, removes this on-device data. There is no TecAv copy. Product page: Ops Normal Timer privacy.
Barcode Ticket — data we process
Barcode Ticket stores barcodes and QR codes on your iPhone and, if you choose, a copy on your Apple Watch. TecAv Software does not receive ticket data. The devices store the following locally so you can show a code later:
- Ticket details — name, barcode or QR payload, format, expiry, limited-use count, favourite flag, and dates added or last used.
- Barcode images — a PNG of the code, redrawn on the iPhone or cropped from the photo you imported.
- Reference photos — the photo or screenshot you choose, or a photo you take with the camera.
Camera and the system photo picker are optional. Finding a code happens on your iPhone. Sending a ticket to the watch uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity link between your paired devices — not a TecAv server.
If you save an off-device backup (.barcodeticket file) to Files, iCloud Drive, or email, that file leaves the app under your control. We do not receive it unless you email it to us for support.
Tickets stay until you delete them, uninstall the app, or erase the device. A ticket with an expiry more than one year in the past is removed automatically. Deleting on iPhone does not delete the watch copy, and the reverse is also true. Product page: Barcode Ticket privacy.
Website
Browsing tecav.com.au may generate ordinary web-server logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) operated by our hosting provider. We do not use advertising trackers on this site.
We do not sell personal information
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for advertising. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in Time and Fuel, Barcode Ticket, or Ops Normal Timer.
Children
Our apps are intended for adults. Aviation apps are aimed at aviation professionals. They are not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Decline optional permissions (location, camera, photos, Bluetooth, Face ID) in system settings; related features will be limited. Barcode Ticket still works from a backup file if you decline camera and photos.
- Clear OpenAIP keys and personal details in the app.
- Use Return to welcome or factory reset in Time and Fuel Device Profile to erase local app data on the device (export a backup first).
- Uninstall the app (including Barcode Ticket on iPhone and watch, or Ops Normal Timer / Ops Normal Timer Free on the watch) to remove remaining on-device storage associated with it.
- Email support@tecav.com.au if you have sent us a file for support and want it deleted.
Changes
We may update this policy by posting a revised version on this page with a new effective date. The current version is always at https://tecav.com.au/privacy.html.
